7 Months Old

She's 7 months old today. She weighs about 18 pounds now. She's got quite a bit more hair coming in. Her hair at birth was darker like mine but the new hair that's coming in is lighter like Gene's hair coloring. She's so much bigger than she was at birth and still such a small bundle. Life is so much fun with her in our lives!

Tummy Time

We're trying to encourage tummy time even though she's not a great fan of it. I found this mirror at Target that holds her interest for a little longer than the other toys I'd been giving her during tummy time. She prefers to push her arms out like an airplane rather than push herself up. Doesn't look like crawling is in her near future but she'll probably just start doing it one day without warning us!

Playing with Ralph

On April 4th Courteney and Mike invited Beth, Jeff, Gene and I over for a dinner party. Ralph (Courteney and Mike's son) is 6 months older than Mena. Ralph and Mena enjoyed playing together on the floor.

Mommy's New Haircut

Mena kept pulling my hair and I got tired of always having it back in a ponytail, so I decided to cut my hair. Gene and I got on the internet and looked at pictures of hair. Gene actually picked this style out and I love it! I think I'll let him pick out my hairstyles in the future, too!

Look What I Did, Mom!

She very proudly showed me her newspaper that she was done reading!

Laughing at Emmy Lou

Mena thinks it is a lot of fun to watch Emmy Lou catch her ball in the air!

Eating Solids

We're trying solid foods again. Cereals backed Mena up terribly so we've totally cut those out. She's eating peas, green beans, peaches, and prunes. Her favorite is peas. She loved the sweet potatoes but the sweet potatoes didn't love her. Prunes came in handy as we discovered which foods (those high in starch) constipate her. We're having fun introducing her to new foods and she's discovering that she likes eating solid foods.

Shopping Trip to Gretna

March 28th we drove up to Gretna to go shopping with Aunt Beth, Peyton, and Grandma. Here's Mena and Peyton at the McDonald's after Peyton had finished his Happy Meal and then Mena smiling at Grandma.
