Painting Valentines

I found a craft idea on-line for Mena to make valentines for her grandparents. Mena happily painted 5 cards while I helped Maggie paint one. The first picture shows Maggie touching it on her own. The second picture I helped her smear it around. The third picture she seems to be pondering what I just did. The fourth picture she decides to do it some more on her own. She got both hands involved. The last picture of Maggie shows when she realized she couldn't get the paint off her hands. I washed her up and then she was just fine.

Getting Supper Ready

I had a lasagna in the oven and went to take a shower. The girls got hungry while I was in the shower; I could hear Maggie screaming for food. When I came out, Mena declared, "I getting supper ready, Mom." She had emptied the lower shelves on the refrigerator door and had lined everything up on the counter. Anyone for condiments tonight?  Mena's mouth looks funny because she was so dramatically saying "cheese." That girl can't smile normal any more!!!

Dinner Party

On January 28th, Karen, Brian, and Haley came to our house for dinner and games. While the adults played "In a Pickle," the girls played dress up. Haley and Mena are only 6 months apart in age and had a lot of fun playing together.

Piggy Tails and Big Girl Undies

Mena was so excited when I put her hair up in piggy tails for the first time. I'm letting it stay a little bit longer than before so we can do this now. She insisted that I take a picture of each ponytail so you could clearly see each side in the picture!!

Mena has also entered a new big girl phase of life; as of February 3rd, she's wearing undies 24 hours a day.  She has a few accidents and we have to remind her to go potty, but overall she's doing awesome!  She's learning to go in by herself and do everything alone so sometimes we don't even have to help her!  We are so proud of our little/big girl!
