Cousins

After the birthday cake, we lined the kids up on the couch for a new cousin picture.

Birthday Cake

We sang "Happy Birthday" and Maggie blew out one candle.  I helped her blow out the other two candles.  Yummy birthday cake and ice cream was had by all!

Birthday Presents

After visiting my grandparents in Fremont, we went back to Mom and Dad's house to celebrate Maggie's birthday with my family.  She received train toys from Grandma and Grandpa, a Tinkerbell hopscotch rug from Aunt Peg, Uncle Jon, and Jake, and an over-the-door basketball hoop from Aunt Beth, Uncle Tim, Peyton, and Tyler.  She has enjoyed all three!

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa Olson

We had a great visit with my grandparents, the girls' great-grandparents.  Four generations strong.  An awesome family to raise my girls in!

Black Friday

The girls were at their dad's so I took advantage of the Black Friday sales.  I got some new bakeware so I can prep more meals ahead of time, flannel sheets for the girls, a tripod for my camera, a new Christmas tree, tree topper, and garland.  The girls came home at 5 pm and we spent the evening decorating for Christmas.  I used the tripod and timer function to take a picture of the three of us in front of the tree.

State Capitol

Neither Mena nor I had school on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving so the girls and I went to the state capitol.  A woman gave the girls each a magazine with pictures about the capitol.  They enjoyed looking at the pictures on the floor, walls, and ceiling.  I took a picture of them in front of the bust of Willa Cather.  We'd been by about 10 statues and I'd told the girls who each of the people were.  Then Mena stopped to look at me and asked, "You know all these people?!"  I told her I was reading the plaques.  They were thrilled to be up on the 14th floor and to find our truck down on the street from the windows up so high!

Maggie's Rose Prints

I found on Pinterest that you could cut off the end of a bunch of celery, dip it in paint, and make a rose print.  Maggie's turned out beautiful!

Happy Thanksgiving!

During Sunday School the kids each made a turkey and told me what they were thankful for.  Mena said, "Mom, Dad, Puck my guinea pig, Grandma, and Grandpa."  Maggie said, "Mommy feeds me supper, Mommy plays with me, Mommy lets me exercise with her, and Mommy puts me to bed."  I'm not sure I understood that last one--does she really like me putting her to bed?  She sure doesn't act like it at bedtime!  But maybe the routine of prayers and favorites from our day is something she enjoys.

3 Years Old!

Maggie had her three year check up and got to wear a gown for the first time.  At first she wasn't thrilled but I told her it was a pretty dress and then she was excited for me to snap a picture.

Maggie is 38 inches tall (72%), 36.6 pounds (92%), BMI 17.9 (90-95%).  She's as healthy as can be and doesn't need to go back until her 4 year check up.  I can't believe I've got 2 preschoolers now!

Maggie and Mena's last day at Heather's daycare is December 13th.  I have a month off between semesters that they will stay home with me.  January 13th I start spring semester and they will start attending Kids First Child Care Center.  Maggie starts preschool there and Mena will receive preschool at Kids First in the morning and continue in preschool at Holmes in the afternoon.

Maggie got a birthday card in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa Frye.  It came with a sheet of Dora stickers were soon all over her pajamas!

Birthday Gifts

Mena had a hard time letting Maggie open her gifts by herself!  Luckily Maggie was willing to share the new doll house toys and the new VBS dvd of songs.  The girls enjoyed both right away!

If You're Happy and You Know It!

Mena's choir sang "If You're Happy and You Know It."  I need to remember to charge the camera battery before I go to church; I had enough battery power to take pictures but not a video.  She did a great job with the actions and words.
